Download guidance

All the data and visualisations in GMC Data Explorer are available to you to download. Please use the tabs below to access guidance for downloading information via desktop or mobile. This guide is also available as a pdf download.  



To download data from any part of Data Explorer, please follow the instructions below. 

1. Hover your mouse over the data table, graph, chart or any visual. 

2. Click the 'More options' ellipsis in the top right (three dots):

3. Click 'Export data' from the list that appears:

4. A pop-up window will appear, asking how the data should be exported and which file format you would prefer. A file exported with an Excel format will maintain formatting on the data, whereas selecting 'csv' will export the data without any formatting:

5. Click 'Export' and follow the instructions to open your downloaded data. 

To download data from any part of Data Explorer, please follow the instructions below. 

1. Tap on any data table, graph or chart to reveal the ellipsis (three dots). 

2. Click the ellipsis to reveal your options:

3. Click 'Export data' from the list.

4. A pop-up window will appear, asking how the data should be exported and which file format you would prefer. A file exported with an Excel format will maintain formatting on the data, whereas selecting 'csv' will export the data without any formatting:  

5. Click 'Export' and follow your device's instructions to save your data. 

6. Downloaded files will usually be stored in your phone's Downloads section, but changes may exist with different providers.
